Google are going to be bringing out a device soon it is rumoured and that will beat all devices hands down because Google are the big boys behind android. You also get a 1 year or 2 year if from jhon Lewis in the UK. The hardware and build for £50 is far beyond anything else on the market because it's Amazon. The remote has dedicated pause, play, rewind and fast forward buttons which you don't even get on the expensive Nvidia shield. I never use mine because all I use is Kodi, Smart YouTube app and my IPTV providers app.
You can run literally any android app you want on the Firestick 4K and don't even need the TV remote anymore for volume or to turn on or off the TV and stick. I probably could put on the new corelec but I would lose the android side of the box. I have a cheap Chinese android box and it no longer gets updates so it's stuck on an old version of libraelec. You have to think how great Amazon does with always providing updates for years and years. I have a Sony Android 4K TV and I went from that which I still have to getting the Firestick 4K and it's miles better. You can take it to someone house or on holiday.
The remote is amazing better than a shield and you can't beat how portable it is and how it just plugs into the TV with no space required.
The Firestick 4K is the best device now before the Nvidia shield and that is good if you also want to play games but to be honest many of the games run from your steam account and your better off playing those with geforce now on a laptop or PC with a mouse and keyboard and a smaller screen.
I have the Firestick 4k and use just Seren and the AuraMod Skin which is very lightweight but looks likes netflix. Then it's just literally downloading coreElec, running etcher to flash it, copying the correct dtb file from the folder to the root of the SD card, inserting it in the box and pushing reset. If you can tell from the photos if it has a reset button I'd probably go that route if I'd have known at the time. Really as long as it has the s912, 2gb of ram, and 1gigabit ethernet they all work the same. The t95z is pretty much identically speced to the t95k and much more common, asking it cheaper. A box with a reset button you just have to push the button once the SD card is inserted. So that means when I installed the micosd care with coreelec I had to download a terminal emulator and run "reboot update" for it to boot to SD card. The only very minor complaint is that it does not have a reset button.
Other than that I have a t95k pro and it works just great. CoreElec has better development currently. They are all just variations of the same thing.
